DESCRIPTION:Cage Training is the part of Field Mechanics that trains plate umpires for their job calling balls\, strikes and everything else.  It will be conducted in the batting cages at the field so dress appropriately.  You should have your plate gear with you\, if possible.  If you don’t have it yet\, talk to your instructors to see how it might be provided with you.  With luck\, we’ll have some pitching machines that will allow you to see pitches at speed.  Other wise\, we will do a “soft toss” session.

DESCRIPTION:This will be an on-line Zoom meeting.  The link to the meeting should come in your e-mail.  If you don’t get one\, please contact any board member. \nEvery NBUA umpire must be certified to work High School games (even if you don’t work HS games\, the certification applies to our insurance application).  Part of this is taking and passing the NFHS Test each year.  Unfortunately\, whoever wrote the test had a cruel and twisted mind so many of the questions involve a reading of the rule book which is convoluted to say the least.  This session will give everyone a chance to review the past questions used on the test to help them better understand what is expected.  Generally a fun time for all. \nAll Tiers are invited: Apprentice\, C-Tier\, B-Tier\, A-Tier and Tournament or T-Tier
