DESCRIPTION:This is for All Tiers: Apprentice\, C-Tier\, B-Tier\, A-Tier and T-Tier \nNBUA Umpires – The NBUA training schedule usually devotes one session to a review of the High School Rules test study guide.  This year is no different; however\, this year we will execute the training in a virtual environment.  This will require some preparation\, so we all get the most out of the training. \n\nMake sure you have your NFHS 2022 Rules Book and the NFHS 2022 Case Book.  \nIf you do not have access to the NFHS 2022 Rules Book and Case Book\, Click Here\nRecommend you download the 2022 WOA Baseball Study Guide\, Click Here\n\n\nIn recent years\, we typically split into 10 groups for 20-30 minutes and each group discussed and answered the 5 questions allocated to their group.  Then we re-grouped and listened to a representative from each group answer their 5 questions. \nThis year\, we will adopt a similar format as best we can considering the virtual environment\,  \n\nWe will split into 8 groups (depending on the first letter of your last name as specified in the table below).  \nEach group is allocated a page of the 9-page study guide (starting with page 2).  \nWe will allocate 20 minutes for each member to study and answer the questions on their assigned page.  \nThen we will re-group and proceed through each question.  We will read the question\, then query the members for an answer.  Please only offer an answer for the page you’ve been assigned.  This maximizes the number of members who can respond and contribute.\nWhen we are reviewing your assigned page and you wish to respond\, please “raise your hand” and wait to be acknowledged or type answer in chat.\n\n\nNote that we will keep a running log of the answers visible throughout the session.\nThis virtual environment provides plenty of challenges for this type of training.  We hope the plan we’ve set-up lends itself to an informative and enjoyable session with good participation.  Thanks for your support.   \n\nTraining Plan:     \n  \n\n\n\n6:30-6:40pm\nIntroduction and description of the training (H. SUMMARY:Games - Apprentice\, App2\, C-Tier and B-Tier
DESCRIPTION:We are trying to get it set up so that there will be games to observe.  The idea is that the lower tier umpires will have a chance to observe actual games being worked by upper tier umpires.  In the best case\, you will pair with your mentors and go to a game\, sit in the stands and watch how it’s supposed to be done.  You should be able to get in on the pre and post game meetings to some extent as well.  E-mails will be sent out to let folks know what games will be available.  Park rules have to be taken into consideration as some parks won’t allow spectators.

DESCRIPTION:This was going to be the cage training but the northshore facility is closed for the pandemic.  Instead\, we will be working on some sort of plate mechanics training as part of the field mechanics training at both sessions today.  Bring your full plate gear for this.  If you don’t have plate gear\, talk to your mentor about borrowing something. \n(B-Tier umpires used to be included in this but they have been removed due to COVID protocols to reduce crowding) \nOnce again we ask the A-Tier and Tournament Tier umpires to volunteer to help the instructors.
