DESCRIPTION:All Tiers are invited to this one.  Every year we study the Official Baseball Rules (OBR) and every year we gather together on one hallowed night to listen to Tim Stevens explain to us the weird and strange differences that we will be expected to understand while working High School games.  Tim is our guru who works with the Washington Officials Association (WOA).  At the very least\, you have to show up to this one to pick up your latest copy of the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) rule books.  It’s always an entertaining show. \nPlease Steve\, this year\, tell us that balks will be live! \nIt will be held in the Shoreline Room at the north end of the complex.  (see map)

DESCRIPTION:Possibly the most valuable training we get all year is the few hours we get to spend in the batting cages before the season.  Here we use pitching machines to simulate real pitches and we get behind a “catcher” and make the calls under the supervision of our peers.  Be sure to bring and to wear all appropriate safety gear for this one.  In addition\, a few gloves are always nice to have around.

SUMMARY:NBUA Camp #1 - Cancelled
DESCRIPTION:This Training Session has been cancelled because of a forecast of snow. \n  \nThis is a training session for A\, B and Tournament Tier umpires.  It will fulfill all training requirements for members of these tiers. \nBrian Herzog will lead the training.  He will be supported by several seasoned umpires with college or minor league experience.  \nTraining Time:  8:30-11:30 (classroom); 12:00-4:00pm (Field Training).  Lunch provided on-site. \nWear your base uniform. \nAs mentioned above\, attendance at the camp satisfies the minimum training requirement.  This means that attendance at this camp makes you eligible for promotion. \nWe anticipate the camp will cost $35-$40 per attender.  This is strictly to cover the costs of the trainers and the facilities at Skyline High School.  Once the training is complete\, we will communicate the costs.  We plan to withdraw the cost from the final draw of each attender. \nNote that we have scheduled two additional sessions relating to High School baseball (at the Bellevue Christian School Feb 21st and 27th).  Attendance is encouraged but not mandatory to meet the minimum training requirements for promotion eligibility (assuming you attend NBUA Camp).

SUMMARY:NBUA Camp #2
DESCRIPTION:This is a training session for A\, B and Tournament Tier umpires.  It will fulfill all training requirements for members of these tiers. \nBrian Herzog will lead the training.  He will be supported by several seasoned umpires with college or minor league experience.  \nTraining Time:  8:30-12:00(classroom); The afternoon session has been cancelled. \nAs mentioned above\, attendance at the camp satisfies the minimum training requirement.  This means that attendance at this camp makes you eligible for promotion. \nWe anticipate the camp will cost $35-$40 per attender.  This is strictly to cover the costs of the trainers and the facilities.  Once the training is complete\, we will communicate the costs.  We plan to withdraw the cost from the final draw of each attender. \nNote that we have scheduled two additional sessions relating to High School baseball (at the Bellevue Christian School Feb 21st and 27th).  Attendance is encouraged but not mandatory to meet the minimum training requirements for promotion eligibility (assuming you attend NBUA Camp).
