DESCRIPTION:We are trying to get it set up so that there will be games to observe.  The idea is that the lower tier umpires will have a chance to observe actual games being worked by upper tier umpires.  In the best case\, you will pair with your mentors and go to a game\, sit in the stands and watch how it’s supposed to be done.  You should be able to get in on the pre and post game meetings to some extent as well.  E-mails will be sent out to let folks know what games will be available.  Park rules have to be taken into consideration as some parks won’t allow spectators.

DESCRIPTION:An online version of our annual business meeting.  Generally we talk about how the year is coming to be organized.  We talk about the awards from the previous year and how they will be handed out for the coming year.  There has usually been a sales meeting before the annual meeting where we can get used equipment and new hats (Don’t know how that’s going to be handled now that everything is virtual).  Also\, this is usually where apprentices are introduced to their mentors but that’s also something that will need to be done differently this year. \nO brave new world that has such people in it!

DESCRIPTION:Finally\, an in person class!  Can’t do this online.  Meet on the ball field of Eastside Catholic High School.  Dress warm and bring your mask if you have it.  This will be an introduction to 2-Man mechanics. \nField Mechanics is the basic term we have for how we move and position ourselves on the field during the game.  If we are lucky\, we might have some actual ball players out there so we can get used to working around a field with real athletes. \nA-Tier and Tournament Tier umpires are encouraged to attend to help out the instructors.
