DESCRIPTION:The High School season in Seattle starts on the 12th.  Before that time\, various teams will be holding practice scrimmages.  These will be at various fields and times scattered all over King County so the exact times and locations will be known only a day or so before the event.  \nThe Apprentices and C-Tier umpires will be divided into small groups and will be sent out to these scrimmage games where they will meet up with A-Tier and T-Tier umpires who will try to guide them through their first game experiences.  \nNo one wins or loses these games.  No pressure.  They only want someone calling balls and strikes just to keep the game moving.  You will need to bring your gear

DESCRIPTION:Cage Training is the part of Field Mechanics that trains plate umpires for their job calling balls\, strikes and everything else.  It will be conducted in the batting cages at the field so dress appropriately.  You should have your plate gear with you\, if possible.  If you don’t have it yet\, talk to your instructors to see how it might be provided with you.  With luck\, we’ll have some pitching machines that will allow you to see pitches at speed.  Other wise\, we will do a “soft toss” session.
