DESCRIPTION:Cage Training is the part of Field Mechanics that trains plate umpires for their job calling balls\, strikes and everything else.  It will be conducted in the batting cages at the field so dress appropriately.  You should have your plate gear with you\, if possible.  If you don’t have it yet\, talk to your instructors to see how it might be provided with you.  With luck\, we’ll have some pitching machines that will allow you to see pitches at speed.  Other wise\, we will do a “soft toss” session.
