High School Season Starts

The High School Season in King County is scheduled to start today.  These will often be in the form of a round-robin jamboree with three teams assigned to a field and each combination of teams will play a three inning game.  Or they may just be a normal 7 inning game between two teams.  You won’t know until you get to the field.  Have a great season!

NBUA umpires that wish to be assigned games during the upcoming High School season are required to be Certified by the WIAA and WOA by end of today.  That means completing the NFHS tests and all the Certification steps outlined in the WOA Hub Portal reached via Arbiter.

Apprentice and C-Tier Cage Training

This session for Apprentice and C-Tier umpires is performed in the batting cages (if possible) using pitching machines (if possible) to give the umpire trainee a chance to see pitches at something approaching game speed.  Because of this, you need to bring ALL of your protective gear or be prepared to borrow from others.  Wear a cup!

Trainees will be broken into small groups of 3-4 and assigned to a batting cage that will be staffed with trainers who will help you work on your plate performance.
